Chartway Credit Union is pleased to announce the expansion of its executive team, welcoming its new chief legal officer, Melissa Stratton Moffa. 

Melissa most recently served as senior director, associate general counsel, and privacy officer for Pentagon Federal Credit Union and brings a wealth of experience and expertise in credit union legal matters to Chartway. Her extensive knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations, including consumer protection, privacy, and employment, will be crucial in expanding Chartway's footprint and safeguarding members' assets.

Melissa's prior experience also includes serving as counsel at Capital One, providing legal advice on various unclaimed property and escheat matters, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. Before that, Melissa worked as an associate counsel for Gallup, Inc., negotiating commercial and government contracts.

Melissa holds a Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Business & Economics and Politics from Ursinus College. She is certified as a National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions Compliance Officer.
