Chartway Credit Union is proud to announce the immediate promotion of Melissa Cade to the position of chief retail officer.

Melissa, who has been with Chartway for an impressive 24 years, many of which she spent directly involved with branches, will now report to President & CEO Brian Schools. In her new role, she will oversee the strategy and leadership of our branch and member care teams and continue to spearhead Chartway's multicultural initiatives.

"Melissa's leadership, innovative approach to product development, and commitment to our multicultural community have been invaluable to Chartway," said Brian Schools. "We are excited to see her leadership continue to evolve in this new role."

Cade’s experience includes significant achievements in product management and executive management as she’s progressed through numerous credit union roles – call center manager, director of call center, director of retail, vice president of alternative channels, regional president of branches, senior vice president of member solutions services, and senior vice president of product & innovation. In her most recent role, she was pivotal in setting the strategic direction for product innovation at Chartway, leveraging technology to enhance member satisfaction and market share.

Melissa holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Columbia College Chicago, a master’s degree in information systems from the University of Phoenix, and a professional certificate in product management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She participates in Filene’s i3, a two-year innovation leadership program equipping top credit union professionals with the mindset, tools, and network to the credit union industry. She is also an active member of the African American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC). Additionally, Melissa is the executive sponsor of Chartway’s African American Resource group, providing leadership and guidance in fostering unity and support for African American team members through celebrating diversity, building connections, and promoting inclusivity within Chartway.
