The Chartway Promise Foundation brought joy, hope, and smiles to medically fragile children and their families with a series of heartwarming events last month. These events occurred to support and uplift the community while providing memorable experiences for the children and their families.
The Chartway Promise Foundation teamed up with Make-A-Wish Utah for a surprise Wish Reveal for 6-year-old Leukemia patient, Tyler Albert. His wish to go to Disney was revealed during a Utah Grizzlies hockey game. Tyler was a special guest of the Grizzlies and walked the team out, dropped the puck and even rode the Zamboni before learning about his wish come true during the second quarter break. Tyler exclaimed, “This is so cool” as he watched himself on the Jumbotron. Additionally, 50 children and their families from Chartway Promise partner charities attended the Promise Night at the Grizzlies event.
Board members from the foundation toured the facilities of its new charity partner, Ronald McDonald House Charities Intermountain Region. RMH received a $15,000 grant from the foundation to fund its Emergency Medical Housing & Respite Program, which provides emergency medical lodging, meal services, transportation, and family-centered care at no cost. Melissa Cade, Chartway Chief Experience Officer, stated, ”This house has something for everyone and provides of so much more than food and a place to stay, but takes care of the family emotionally and physically with medication rooms and a gym. It’s amazing!”
To cap off the week, Chartway members, team members, and community volunteers assembled 250 activity bags for Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital of Utah. This is the first quarterly delivery of a year-long commitment to provide a total of 1,000 activity bags for the hospital to use in its emergency department. Brandt Holbrook, Chartway Market Director of Northern Utah said, “I never miss these volunteer opportunities. It is so rewarding to see our impact on our community.”
Chartway Promise looks forward to more activities in Utah, when they host events and volunteer activities May 17th – May 20th.
