Lehi, UT (May 25, 2022) – During its 6th Annual Putting for Promises golf tournament on May 17, 2022, the Chartway Promise Foundation raised more than $75,000 to benefit critically-ill children in Utah. Chartway Credit Union’s charitable arm also presented a $190,000 grant to Make-A-Wish Utah to help wishes come true for 38 children.

The day’s biggest surprise was reserved for “T,” a local 13-year-old leukemia patient, who learned that her “Wish” had been granted. At the conclusion of the event held at the Thanksgiving Point Golf Course in Lehi, UT, “T” was whisked away in a limousine for her dream shopping spree thanks to funds provided by the Chartway Promise Foundation to its partner, Make-A-Wish Utah.

“As we emerge from the COVID pandemic, seeing people safely come together again for this event was really special,” said Karen Lane, Chartway Promise Foundation executive director. “The money raised here and by other charitable events during the year allows us to make dreams and wishes come to life for children in our communities facing medical hardship or illness.”

Following the tournament, Chartway presented Make-A-Wish Utah with a charitable grant of $190,000 to fulfill the life-changing wishes for 38 children with critical illnesses. “This gift is one of eight grants totaling $670,000 to non-profit partners who share our mission to use in 2022,” Lane said. Since 1999, the Chartway Promise Foundation has raised more than $13 million to help thousands of children facing medical hardship.

“Our credit union is dedicated to unlocking the potential of individuals and families so they can thrive – and a commitment to our communities is a vital part of that mission,” said Brian Schools, Chartway’s president & CEO. “Whether supporting children with medical hardship through our Chartway Promise Foundation, donating to disaster response organizations during times of crisis, offering free financial literacy education and wellness programs, or helping tomorrow’s leaders through our collegiate scholarship programs, we’re proud to do it. It’s who we are.”

Chartway also serves on a wide range of industry and trade association committees, partners with local chamber groups, and leads legislative efforts to advocate for financial issues. Collectively, Chartway’s team members volunteer more than 8,000 hours each year in the communities where they live and work.

Other Chartway Promise Foundation fundraising events in 2022 include: A Practice Round Party on September 25, 2022, the 23rd Annual Charity Golf Classic on September 26, 2022, in Virginia Beach, VA, and more.
